Safeguarding Statement
Haverton Care is committed to recognising, preventing and responding appropriately to abuse, neglect and exploitation.
Our commitment
Haverton Care believes every person has the right to live free from abuse, neglect, exploitation and degrading treatment. Safeguarding is not a paper exercise; it is a core part of safe, respectful care and ethical recruitment.
Current scope
Haverton Care is not currently providing regulated personal care. Our home care service is in development and will only begin after CQC registration and operational-readiness arrangements are complete. This statement currently applies to website enquiries, recruitment activity, candidate contact, employer conversations and future home care interest conversations.
Recognising concerns
Safeguarding concerns may include physical, emotional, sexual, financial or organisational abuse; neglect; self-neglect; domestic abuse; discriminatory abuse; modern slavery; coercion; or exploitation. Concerns may arise from what someone says, what someone does, or a change in behaviour or circumstances.
Responding to concerns
If we become aware of a possible safeguarding concern, we will take it seriously, record relevant information, consider immediate risk, and take appropriate action. This may include encouraging the person to contact the relevant local authority safeguarding team, contacting emergency services where there is immediate danger, or seeking appropriate advice.
Recruitment and safer working
Recruitment activity will be approached with safer recruitment principles in mind, including identity, right-to-work, employment history, references and role-relevant suitability checks where appropriate. Candidates are never charged fees for finding work.
Emergency and local authority routes
If someone is in immediate danger, call 999. For non-emergency adult safeguarding concerns, contact the relevant local authority adult safeguarding team for the area where the person lives or where the concern occurred.
