Why we are taking our time before starting regulated home care

Why Haverton Care is building carefully before any regulated home care begins.

Future home care · 10 August 2026

You may have noticed that Haverton Care describes its home care service as "future" and "in development". That wording is deliberate, and we want to explain it.

Home care is a regulated activity. Before any provider can deliver personal care in England, it must be registered with the Care Quality Commission — a process that examines the provider's policies, governance, staffing, training, and leadership. We would not want it any other way. Regulation exists to protect the people who matter most: those receiving care in their own homes.

So rather than rushing, we are building the service properly. That means a full suite of policies and procedures aligned to CQC's quality statements. It means recruitment and training arrangements designed around safer recruitment requirements. It means governance built by someone who has led a Good-rated service and knows what well-led looks like from the inside.

When our registration is granted, we will announce it here, and our registration details will be visible on the CQC website — where you can check any care provider, at any time. We would encourage every family arranging care to do exactly that.

Until then, if you are exploring future care options in Swanley, Sevenoaks, Dartford, Bexley or Bromley, you are welcome to register your interest through our contact page. We will keep you informed — honestly, and without pressure.
